NFL Draft Days
NFL Draft Days caught up with hard working New Hampshire corner back Douglas Moss recently, as he was preparing for the upcoming NFL Draft.
Name: Douglas Moss “Dougie”
College: University of New Hampshire
NFL Draft Days: How would you describe your style of play?
Douglas Moss: My style of play is very versatile. I can be a man corner on an island and get up, press, and be physical, or a zone corner and read the quarterback. I am also not afraid to come up and hit.
NFL Draft Days: What has driven you to become a top-level football player?
Douglas Moss: My family, friends and the support of the people back home have really driven me to become the top-level football player I am today. Also my motivation, and determination are vital to my success as well.
NFL Draft Days: What was the best game you played in college?
Douglas Moss: The best game I played in college would have to be this past year against the #5 ranked team, Richmond. Winning that game was a key win in our selection to make the playoffs and proved our strength and determination.
NFL Draft Days: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
Douglas Moss: Some pre-game rituals that I have are watching some type of action movie the night before a game and drink a bottle of Powerade. I have to eat fruit, 4 boiled eggs and drink both apple juice and Powerade for breakfast. I have to take a lap around the field and listen to lil boosie “Set It Off”. When I’m done I run out on the field take a knee in the end zone say my prayers then go pump air into my helmet before kick-off.
NFL Draft Days: Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?
Douglas Moss: My favorite NFL team growing up has always been the NY Giants and my favorite player was Randy Moss. Not because of the same last name but because he is just a playmaker and one of the greatest.
NFL Draft Days: When did you first realize that playing in the NFL was a real possibility?
Douglas Moss: I first realized that playing in the NFL was a real possibility for me when a lot of kids I played in high school with were getting drafted. And then last year, one of my close friends was drafted. Knowing what he did and where he came from really opened my eyes because we’ve always grinded together and if he could make it happen, then so can I.
NFL Draft Days: Due to where you played collegiately, what extra challenges do you face in the draft process?
Douglas Moss: Due to playing in a smaller program in the FCS, we haven’t really produced a high volume of NFL drafted players, I think that our school is often overlooked even though we’ve made a lot of noise on the national scale these last few years at the FCS level. So, I face the challenge of being overlooked to players in the FBS because of the level of competition.
NFL Draft Days: What will be your first big purchase once you are in the NFL?
Douglas Moss: My first big purchase once I’m in the NFL will be to pay off the rest of my mothers mortgage and sisters loans from school.
NFL Draft Days: Which pet do you prefer; Cat, Dog, or Snake? Why?
Douglas Moss: I would prefer a dog because I had a German Shepard dog growing up, and because a dog is a man’s best friend.
NFL Draft Days: Is there anything else you want our readers to know about you?
Douglas Moss: I am the most determined, hardworking, and dedicated player in my position and will not stop until I reach my goals.
