By Frank Williams
NFL Draft Days
Recently a confident and determined Jon Schnaars took time out of his very busy schedule to give NFL Draft Days and our readers some insight on what this promising prospect is all about.
Name: Jon Schnaars
College: East Stroudsburg
Position: Wide Receiver
NFL Draft Days: What separates you from other players at your position?
Jon Schnaars: My body control and my physicality. I play offense with a defensive mindset.
NFL Draft Days: What personal goals did you accomplish this last season?
Jon Schnaars: My goals were 100 catches, over 1500 yards, and 20 TD’s. I succeeded them all with 114 catches, 1610 yards, and 22 TD’s
NFL Draft Days: How much time do you spend studying film?
Jon Schnaars: We watched film Mondays and Tuesdays with the coach, and the other 3 days my QB and I would meet up to watch more to be on the same page. When I had free time at home I would also watch my hudl film of my opponents.
NFL Draft Days: Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?
Jon Schnaars: My favorite team growing up was the Oakland Raiders and my favorite player was Randy Moss.
NFL Draft Days: What statement would you make to a team debating on drafting you?
Jon Schnaars: I will be the hardest working person every day and I will give you my full effort on every single play to help the team win, in any way.
NFL Draft Days: Due to where you played collegiately, what extra challenges do you face in the draft process?
Jon Schnaars: Everyone looks down on me due to the fact I played Division 2. So the challenge was the level of competition but I dominated where I played and showed I could play at the same high level against top D1 talent in the College Gridiron Showcase in Texas.
NFL Draft Days: What will be your first big purchase once you are in the NFL?
Jon Schnaars: The first big purchase I want to make once I can is to buy my parents a new house and pay it off in full.
NFL Draft Days: What's the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
Jon Schnaars: The best advice I have ever been given is from one of my closest friends I see as a big brother, and he told me “to control what I can control.”
NFL Draft Days: Which pet do you prefer; Cat, Dog, or Snake? Why?
Jon Schnaars: A dog easily. I love any dog I see because they are the only thing on this planet that loves something 100% more than their selves.
NFL Draft Days: Is there anything else you want our readers to know about you?
Jon Schnaars: Tell me I cannot do something and I will prove you wrong. All my life I have been told I cannot play at the next level since 2nd grade. Has not stopped me yet and I don’t plan on that happening anytime soon.
